At the Museum - MOLAA, Long Beach, CA

Studying art at the Museum of Latin American Art. (molaa.org).

An exhibit I found fascinating in the permanent collection was a set of movie clips from '30s, '40s, and '50s that used the same painting by Diego Rivera, Flower Carrier, 1935, as part of the set. Rivera is most known for his later works as a famous Mexican muralist, and more recently as the (two-time) husband of Freda Kahlo.

Lunch at Jongewaard’s Bake 'n Broil - Long Beach, CA

Cafe Pasadena - this post is for you.

Bake 'n Broil is a traditional American diner with really good food and very reasonable prices. The place is small and gets very crowded - for a reason. The decor especially in the front room is so lovely.

This is my favorite meal - quiche of the day, with a bran muffin and side salad.

My friend had a tastly Cajun chicken sandwich.

Once the site of a thriving aircraft factory with different company names (Douglas Aircraft, McDonnell Douglas, & Boeing), is now a commercial & residential development space. In the view are white Boeing office buildings and the San Gabriel/San Bernandino mountains.
